Credit Card Charge Directory: A–Z Merchant and Descriptor Guides

Looking at an unfamiliar credit card statement? Use this alphabetical directory to find detailed explanations of 111 merchant names, billing companies, statement abbreviations, and payment descriptions. The entries below link to guides that explain possible purchases, ways to check a charge, and what to do when a payment was not authorized.

Important: Some names are shared by unrelated companies. A directory entry does not prove that a particular business charged your card. Match the exact name, amount, date, and issuer merchant information with an actual receipt before treating a possible match as confirmed.

What if you cannot find a matching business?

Start with the bank’s complete merchant description, posted amount, and transaction date. Check receipts, subscriptions, authorized card users, and any payment wallets. If a label is abbreviated, ask the card issuer for its full merchant-of-record information.

Read our step-by-step unknown credit card charge guide. If you believe the posted payment was unauthorized, contact the issuer promptly through its official app or the phone number on the card. For US credit-card billing errors, review the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s billing-error guidance.
